Guwahati: Water Pipe Bursts in Hatigarh Chariali Cause Massive Water Surge

Guwahati, 24th October: Amid Durga Puja festivities, Panic gripped in Guwahati’s Hatigarh Chariali after a water pipeline burst on October 24.

The continuous water spillage from the pipeline has been causing significant disruptions for commuters as they navigate the submerged road.

This has resulted in traffic congestion, although fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or injuries so far.

The first instance of a burst water pipeline occurred in the Kharguli area on May 25, leading to the tragic loss of a woman’s life and injuries to several others.

The forceful rush of water from the burst pipe caused extensive damage to approximately 30 houses and numerous vehicles in the vicinity.

Sumitra Rabha Das, a resident, tragically lost her life when her house collapsed due to the impact of the surging water, and her two daughters also sustained injuries in the incident.
