Guwahati: A woman accused of blackmailing was apprehended by Tinsukia Police with the help of Dispur Police in Guwahati on Wednesday morning.
The woman identified as Helena, was allegedly making the claim that she was the second wife of Tinsukia Police Station Superintendent of Police Debojit Deuri.
Based on a complaint made by SP Deuri, Helena was detained at her home at Kahilipara’s Shanti Plaza Apartment.
The SP claimed that she was using the child she had with her as leverage and blaming it on Debojit.
Helena announced that she was requesting funds for her son’s education in the interim. She stated that Debojit is her son’s father.
It should be noted that despite having been together for 14 years, Helena and Debojit did not formally wed.
Debojit bought her cars, house and so on.
