Guwahati, 27th November: The mother of Anushka Saikia, the young woman found dead in Guwahati’s Hengrabari, dismissed suicide claims and alleged murder.
Tearfully addressing the media, she accused the landlord, Ramesh Bharali, and the domestic help, Junu Borah, of conspiring in her daughter’s death.
Anushka’s mother demanded the arrest and punishment of the accused, emphasizing that her daughter was a talented and brave girl and ruling out the possibility of suicide.
Expressing suspicion over the landlord’s actions, she claimed he frequently checked on her daughter’s well-being, indicating a possible motive.
Anushka’s birthday on November 20 had passed without proper celebration, adding emotional weight to her mother’s statements.
The deceased woman’s mother clarified that Rahul Hazarika, Anushka’s almost-fixed fiancé, is not involved in her death.
Anushka Saikia’s body was recovered under mysterious circumstances in her rented residence on November 26.
The police are currently interrogating Rahul Hazarika as a suspect, while the domestic help, Junu Borah, has been picked up for questioning. The case remains under investigation.
