Guwahati, 26th January: Amidst the celebration of Republic Day, a youth lost his life after a boating mishap on the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati’s Panikhaiti on January 26.
The incident took place in the Hatisila picnic spot.
As per sources, the victim identified as Avinash Deka from Baihata Chariali in Kamrup Rural district had ventured out for a picnic when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Partaking in recreational boating, Avinash was on a boat when he tumbled into the swirling waters of the Brahmaputra.
Upon receiving information, police officials immediately reached the spot and recovered Avinash’s body.
Avinash was employed as a manager of Borluit Lodge in Amingaon.
