Guwahati, 14th June: Guwahati’s Chandubi area witnessed a tragic incident on Thursday as Hemanga Mazumdar, a young individual, lost his life while attempting to enjoy the serene Baregaon Waterfall. The area, clearly marked as prohibited for entry, did not deter Hemanga and his three friends from seeking a refreshing dip, which ultimately led to a devastating outcome.
Reports reveal that despite warnings, the group ventured into the depths of the waterfall. Unfortunately, while diving, Hemanga was overwhelmed by the powerful currents, leading to a swift and tragic drowning. Despite efforts by his friends to rescue him, their attempts were futile, and Hemanga succumbed to the forceful waters.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the incident, launching a search operation immediately. Tragically, Hemanga’s lifeless body was recovered shortly after the incident occurred, marking a somber conclusion to the day’s events.
