Guwahati’s City Centre Mall Evacuated Amid Unconfirmed Bomb Threat

Guwahati, August 19 The City Centre shopping mall in Guwahati has been abruptly closed and evacuated, with management citing a “technical issue” as the cause. However, unconfirmed reports of a potential bomb threat have raised concerns among the public.

A notice posted at the mall’s entrance reads, “FOR TECHNICAL ISSUE MALL WILL BE SHUT DOWN FOR 2 HOURS.” Despite this official statement, heightened security measures have been observed, with security personnel on-site and the area cordoned off using traffic cones.

Adding to the tension, fire services and a sniffer dog squad have been dispatched to the scene, indicating a possible security threat. The mall’s evacuation was carried out swiftly, and authorities have announced that the closure will last for two hours.

As of now, no official confirmation of a bomb threat has been released, and investigations are ongoing to determine the nature of the “technical issue” cited by the mall’s management.
