‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign: PM Modi Urges People To Hoist Tricolour Between Aug 13-15

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people to hoist the tricolour at their residences between August 13 and August 15 in an effort to support the Har Ghar Tiranga Movement.

He claimed that the effort will strengthen our ties to the national anthem.

PM Modi said on Twitter that July 22 had particular significance in India’s history because it was the day in 1947 when the National Flag was adopted.

“This year, when we are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, let us strengthen the Har Ghar Tiranga Movement. Hoist the Tricolour or display it in your homes between August 13 and 15. This movement will deepen our connect with the national flag,” he said.

PM Modi also offered some fascinating historical tidbits, such as information about the committee in charge of our Tricolor and the first Tricolor that Pandit Nehru unfurled.

“Today, 22nd July has special relevance in our history. It was on this day in 1947 that our National Flag was adopted. Sharing some interesting nuggets from history including details of the committee associated with our Tricolour and the first Tricolour unfurled by Pandit Nehru,” he said in a tweet.

He also recalled the extraordinary bravery and work of everyone who envisioned a flag for a free India throughout the nation’s struggle against colonial domination.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture tweeted, “One nation, one identity- Our Tiranga! In the 75th year of our independence, let’s bring our National Flag home, proudly fly it from 13th to 15th August and show the world we are one! HarGharTiranga.”

The Ministry of Culture has launched an initiative called “Har Ghar Tiranga” to commemorate India’s 75th anniversary of independence.

Throughout the campaign’s dates of August 13–15, residents will be urged to fly the tricolour at their residences.

The programme will motivate people to fly the flag in their residences. The campaign was created with the intention of stirring up patriotism among the populace.
