‘Har Ghar Tiranga Movement’: AKVIB Prepares 50,000 National Flags
Guwahati: Assam Khadi and Village Industries Board (AKVIB), the government institution authorised to prepare the national flag joined the campaign to prepare roughly 50,000 flags in honour of the 75th anniversary of Independence Day as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.
While addressing a press conference, AKVIB Chairman Dr. Kamala Kanta Kalita stated that the organisation had a goal of producing 50,000 national flags, of which 30,000 had already been finished, costing Rs. 90,15,250.
They have so far had orders from states like Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, and others in India. In addition to government agencies, they have also been given directives by private persons and businesses.
Kalita further stated that they are unable to increase their goal of producing National Flags owing to a scarcity of labour. “Only about 30-35 workers are working on making flags, which is not enough. We are limited in how many National Flags we can produce because of a scarcity of labour, Kalita added.
The personnel are working overtime from early in the morning until late at night to finish their orders since the workload has escalated. Furthermore, we have also given them housing,” he added.
The small number of employees, however, claimed, “We are not paid on time, and we also did not receive enough money. To receive the cash, we must wait months.
They claimed, “We are also not receiving any further compensation for working overtime.”
AKVIB urged residents to purchase their own nation’s flag instead of purchasing low-quality flags from the market.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urges Indians to hoist our National Flag in their home during 13-15 August as part of the campaign.
Moreover, he exhorts everyone to use the national flag as their profile photo on social media. He and the other ministers each set Tiranga as their social media profile pictures earlier today.
