Har Ghar Tiranga: National Flags Worth Rs 16.07 Crores Sold in Assam

Guwahati: National flags worth more than Rs 16.07 crores have already been auctioned in Assam as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in advance of Independence Day.

The self-help groups produced 32,58,134 national flags in total, which were sold until Tuesday throughout the state. 12.47 crores of rupees were made from this sale in total.

Over 23,000 self-help group members have embroidered 35,95,167 national flags in total. The method involves 722 CLFs in total. In the state, there are 19,110 SHG sales locations for flags.

The Assam government has requested extra 50 lakh flags from the federal ministry of culture in addition to the locally produced ones. The state administration has also received 39.26 lakh flags as of today.

The Assam state government has been taking steps to make these flags available in 34,000 fair-price stores around the state through the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department.

These flags are being offered to NFSA beneficiaries by fair pricing stores for Rs 18 each. At these fair price shops, about 20 lakh National Flags worth Rs 3.60 billion have already been sold.

The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is a component of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,” which is being held from August 13 to 15 to commemorate 75 years of Indian independence.

To ensure the success of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the Assam government has used a variety of strategies to nudge people towards flying the tricolour at their residences, workplaces, and retail locations.

Initiatives are also being taken by the state government to see that more than 80 lakh National Flags were hoisted during the three-day campaign to display patriotism towards the nation.
