Heartbreaking! 10-year-old Assam girl allegedly commits suicide in Arunachal
Northeast Desk, 23rd December: In a tragic incident in Bordumsa, Arunachal Pradesh, a 10-year-old girl was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the residence of Mylo Konwar, a teacher at Kamang Pathar Primary School. While authorities initially labeled it as a suicide, the family of the deceased vehemently claims it was a case of murder.
Hailing from Tekri Namsai village in Assam’s Tinsukia, the girl had been living with the Konwar family for about two years. The family, notified by local police about the child’s death, examined the body and discovered multiple injury marks, casting doubt on the suicide theory.
A family representative expressed concerns to the media, stating, “The girl’s family came here, they were told that it was a suicide, but upon inspecting the body, they found marks at the back, and it is assumed that this is not a suicide but a case of murder.”
In response, local bodies and concerned individuals closed the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh gate symbolically, demanding a thorough investigation and justice for the grieving family. The Bordumsa police station has formally registered the case, initiating an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the girl’s tragic demise.
