Guwahati: The Election Commission of India (ECI) published a study on the net worth and fortune of the Indian Chief Ministers, ‘The Print’ reported.
According to the report, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is the wealthiest chief minister in India with a net worth of 373.8 crores, while Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal has the lowest net worth at 15 lakhs.
The study was undertaken as a review of the 30 chief ministers’ most recent election affidavits.
Some fascinating facts were discovered by ECI’s analysis. The most educated chief minister in the nation is Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam.
Apart from net assets, the report provides details on CMs who own firearms, spouses who are wealthier, and CMs who have a history of criminal activity.
Arunachal CM Pema Khandu and Andhra Pradesh’s Y.S. Reddy are notables with assets worth more than 100 crores. The assets of Jagan Reddy outnumber those of all the other CMs combined.
