Heroic Act Recognized: Meghalaya CM Lauds Courageous Rescue by Young Elambok Dkhar
Northeast Desk, 1st May: Meghalaya’s Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, paid tribute to the bravery of Elambok Dkhar from Wahsiej village, South West Khasi Hills District, on May 1, presenting him with a special commendation.
Elambok’s fearless actions on April 21, 2024, during a tragic incident at the Rilang River, Wahsiej, where two lives were lost, stand as a testament to his courage. Despite the perilous situation, Elambok courageously plunged into action, rescuing a young girl from the river’s grip and preventing another loss of life.
In honoring Elambok, Chief Minister Sangma not only acknowledged the young boy’s selfless act but also highlighted the importance of bravery and compassion in the face of adversity. The recognition serves as a reminder of the positive impact individuals can have on their communities through acts of courage and kindness.
