Guwahati: A huge amount of heroin was seized in a massive operation by security forces from Karimganj district of Assam on Monday night.
One person was arrested in connection to it.
In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) along with Karimganj police seized the illicit drugs from Karimganj.
Police have seized a total of 746 containers weighing a total of 9 kilograms.
Reportedly, the heroin was being smuggled from Mizoram in a cement laden truck.
The seized contraband has a market value of Rs 40 crores.
Further investigation is underway.
