Hima Das testes positive for COVID-19

Guwahati: Dhing Express,  Hima Das has been tested positive for COVID-19. Hima returned to Patiala on 10 October to continue her practice.

The news was shared by Hima Das on Twitter on Wednesday.

Taking Twitter the Indian athlete wrote, “would like to inform everyone that I have been tested positive for Covid-19. I am stable and at the moment in isolation. I look forward to utilising this time to recover and come back stronger than before. 💪🏼A gentle reminder for everyone to stay safe and wear mask.”

According to Hima’s media manager, there is no need to worry about her health. Hima arrived earlier than expected to get a head start on the national athletics camp, which is set to begin in the last week of October. The rest of the campers have still to report to Patiala, Punjab’s National Institute of Sports. “She is present.

Galina Bukharina, the 400m chief coach, said, “She wants to practice and get back into shape.”

He further added that Hima wants to work hard and get herself in form so that she can do well in the Commonwealth and Asian Games.

It may be mentioned that on 8th and 9th October Hima was in Guwahati.
