Himachal Assembly Polls: JP Nadda Casts His Vote at Bilaspur

Guwahati: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda voted in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections on Saturday in Vijaypur of Bilaspur.

“With the atmosphere I’ve been seeing since the morning, I believe people have enthusiasm, and that zeal is focused on a just cause. I urge everyone to vote in great numbers “said Nadda.

Nadda’s wife Mallika Nadda also cast her vote.

The BJP places a lot of importance on the Bilaspur seat because JP Nadda, the party’s president, resides there.

The BJP’s candidate for the position has been altered. Currently serving as an MLA, Subhash Thakur defeated Bumber Thakur of the Congress in the 2017 Assembly elections by a margin of 6,862.

Trilok Jamwal has been put forward by the BJP to win the seat for the group. Meanwhile, Congress has put its trust in Thakur.

On Saturday morning at 8 am, voting to install a new administration in Himachal Pradesh began under heavy security across 68 seats in the state.

The fate of the 412 candidates who are running for office will be decided by a total of 55,92,828 voters who can cast their votes till today at 5 p.m.

Out of the total electorates, there are 28,54,945 men, 27,37,845 women, and 38 third-gender electorates.

This time, there are 24 female contenders in all.

Political parties stopped their intense campaigning on November 10.

The battle is between the state’s ruling BJP, which wants to keep power, and Congress, which is relying on the “10 assurances” that the party outlined in its manifesto to win. The Aam Aadmi Party is running for all 68 seats in the state in an effort to make a name for it.
