Himachal Pradesh: Landslide in Shimla Claims Lives of Two Migrant Workers

National Desk, 6th February: Tragedy struck Shimla in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday as a landslide claimed the lives of two migrant workers and left five others injured, according to reports.

The incident occurred at the Ashwani Khad area near a crusher site on the Mehli-Junga road in Shimla during the early hours of the day.

The two deceased workers, identified as Rakesh and Rajesh Kumar, hailed from Bihar. Meanwhile, the injured have been rushed to hospitals for medical treatment.

The workers’ huts in the vicinity were reportedly engulfed by the landslide, exacerbating the severity of the situation.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Station House Officer (SHO) Mamta Raghuvanshi promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

Subsequent reports revealed that a coordinated effort involving police, fire brigade, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and home guard personnel was mobilized to conduct rescue operations at the site.
