Himachal: Several Feared Washed Away After Cloud Burst In Kullu
Guwahati: Several people have been feared washed away in flash floods after a cloud burst at Choj nullah in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district on Wednesday.
This morning’s tragedy in Himachal Pradesh’s Parvati Valley resulted in significant property damage and the destruction of the lone bridge connecting the settlement.
According to Gurdev Sharma, the superintendent of police in Kullu, “Flash flood smashes Manikaran valley in Kullu district due to heavy rainfall, damaging dozens of homes and camping spots in Choj village.”
Rescue teams have arrived at the scene, according to the police, who claimed that four persons have gone missing thus far.
The state emergency operation centre reported in its bulletin that 4-6 people and 5 livestock heads are thought to have been washed away from Chojh village. On the Kasol-Jaimala Road, there was yet another landslide.
The cloud burst also caused damage to a facility at the Kullu-based Malana Project and II Tehsil Bhuntar. At the time of the event, between 25 to 30 employees were trapped in the building and have since been evacuated.
SDM Kullu, police, and fire teams are conducting rescue operations.

The meteorological service issued a heavy to very heavy rainfall forecast for today, along with isolated thunderstorms and lightning strikes over plains, low and midhills, and thunderstorms and lightning strikes over the state’s high hills.
