Hindi Unites Nation In Thread of Unity: Amit Shah
Guwahati: Home Minister Amit Shah made the statement on Hindi Diwas that , Hindi “unites the entire nation in a thread of solidarity and is an official language”
Shah shared his opinions on Twitter and made it clear that the administration, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to the “parallel growth” of all regional languages, including Hindi.
“Hindi, the country’s official language, weaves a thread of national solidarity. Each Indian language has a friend in Hindi. The Modi administration is dedicated to the parallel growth of Hindi and all regional tongues. I honour the outstanding individuals who have worked to preserve and advance Hindi. Happy Hindi Diwas to everyone, he tweeted in Hindi.
Hindi Diwas is observed on September 14 every year. After being designated as the official language of the Union of India, the day is devoted to Hindi language.
India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, has officially declared September 14 as Hindi Diwas.
On September 14, 1949, the Indian Constituent Assembly proclaimed Hindi, using the Devanagari alphabet, as the nation’s official tongue. The second official language is English.
On January 26, 1950, the decision to make Hindi the official language of India was approved by the Indian Constitution.
Nearly 258 million people use Hindi as a first language, making it the fourth most spoken language in the world.
