Hindustan-228 Aircraft Gets Modification Approval From DGCA
Guwahati: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has certified a new version of the Hindustan 228-201 LW aircraft made by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited .
According to reports, the model can carry 19 passengers and has a maximum takeoff weight of 5,695 kg. HAL informed all of this in a statement.
The upgrade would place the aircraft in the under 5,700 kilogramme aircraft category, according to the statement.
HAL said, “This variant provides several operational benefits for operators such as reduced pilot qualification requirement enabling pilots with Commercial Pilot License to fly the aircraft, enhanced availability of pilot pool for the aircraft and reduced operational cost.”
Also, the new variation will lead to a reduction in the amount of training needed for ground workers including engineers for aircraft maintenance.
The FLIR system, satellite communication tools, ESM technology, speech encryption equipment, improved ground proximity warning system, Traffic Collision Avoidance System, etc. were all installed by HAL to the Dornier 228. HAL launched Hindustan 228 in 2016 after deciding to make a civilian version of the vehicle.
It is the Dornier 228 in civilian form. German-based Dornier is an organisation. The Aircraft division at Kanpur produced the civilian version.
