HNLC claims responsibility for IED blast in Shillong, 1 held

Guwahati: The Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), a banned terrorist group, has claimed responsibility for the IED blast at Police Bazar on Monday evening.

The HNLC stated that the blast occurred near Delhi Mistan as a result of retailers’ failure to pay taxes to the organization.

Meanwhile, according to Meghalaya home minister Lahkmen Rymbui, police have already detained a child who claimed to be the HNLC’s local commander. The apprehended suspect led police to a second live device put at Demthring, which was quickly defused.

The home minister stated, “It was a rudimentary IED put in front of the business complex in Police Bazar.”

Despite the fact that the outfit has claimed responsibility, the home minister stated that the police are investigating the perpetrators and that the kid is a native of Nongstoi in Meghalaya’s West Khasi Hills region.

It may be, mentioned that the IED blast occurred in Shillong city on Sunday evening at Police Bazar. There were no injuries or damage to the vehicles.
