Guwahati: A middle-aged home tutor who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor girl student at his house was arrested in Guwahati.
The accused tutor has been identified as 50-year-old Maninul Haque, is married and teaches at a private school in the city’s Katahbari area.
Following a complaint from the victim’s father that his 10-year-old daughter, who is enrolled in class IV, had been sexually molested by her home tutor, Haque was taken into custody.
According to reports, the horrible crime was committed by the accused tutor on a Saturday afternoon while no one was home.
The girl later told her mother the entire story when she got home from work. When the mother and father questioned the home tutor about the occurrence, he admitted to the crime.
Haque was taken into custody on Sunday based on the FIR that was filed at the Garchuk police station.
Meanwhile, he has been charged with violating the POCSO Act and section 376 of the IPC, which deals with rape.
