Hospital Superintendent Suspended After Assam’s Majuli Artist’s Death

Guwahati: The superintendent of Garmur Hospital was suspended on Thursday following the death of an artist in Majuli district of Assam.

The superintendent Amulya Goswami was the target of a punitive action ordered by the health department.

The new Garmur Hospital Superintendent has been named as Dr. Kishore Barman.

Notably, Goswami was fired after the passing of Majuli’s Tejaswita Baruah, a gifted young artist.

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva, Tejaswita attended a function. Later, she developed a sudden illness and was sent to the hospital.

However, she passed away while receiving care inside the hospital. According to the medical professionals, cardiac arrest was the cause of her death.

Tejaswita’s relatives claimed that the hospital’s incompetence caused her death because she had no ongoing medical conditions.
