Huge Cache Of Arms, Ammunition Recovered in Assam

Guwahati: A huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered by Diphu Police in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Friday.

According to reports, the arms and ammunition were recovered from Dhansiri Reserve Forest near the Elephant Camp area.

Police Officials informed that as many as two grenades, an AK-47 rifle magazine and 69 rounds of live ammunition were recovered.

Moreover, three handgun magazines and 12 SLRR rifle rounds were also seized.

Speaking to reporters, officials revealed that it is suspected that the ammo and weapons belonged to the DNLT, a banned Dimasa rebel group.

It needs to be mentioned that no arrests have been made so far in connection with the recoveries.
