Human Skeleton Recovered From Jungle at Assam’s Bijni

Guwahati: Tensions continued to increase after a human skeleton was recovered at Bijni under Chirang district of Assam on Saturday.

Locals in the Dahlapar area recovered the skeleton in a bush next to the Daloni River and they immediately informed the authorities.

Reports claim that the skeleton remains belonged to one Kalowa Harijan, a resident of Amguri.

Reports further informed that Harijan had been missing for the previous three months and the reason behind his demise is yet to be established.

Meanwhile, Local police arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

Further investigation is underway.

Notably, this is the third recovery of this kind in less than three days.

Another human skeleton was found in a pond yesterday in Kakoripara along the Assam-Bangladesh border in Mankachar.

According to reports, a person identified as Nur Nabi a resident of Kakoripara has been missing for the past three months. The family members of Nur suspected that the skeleton belongs to him.

Family relatives of Nur asserted that he is the owner of the clothing on the skeleton.

Moreover, they claim that despite reporting Nur’s disappearance to the Mankachar Police Station, but no action has been taken till now.

A similar incident took place on Thursday in Lakhimpur. A human skull was found in a pond in Bihpuria. The skull is suspected to be of a man named Chittaranjan Dutta who had gone missing since July, 2022.
