I-Day: 20 ITBP Personnel Awarded Service Medals
Guwahati: Various service medals have been given out to 20 members of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force in honour of Independence Day.
Six police valour medals, three President’s police medals for distinguished service, and eleven police medals for excellent service are among the awards.
Those awarded the bravery medals are Assistant Commandants (ACs) Prabhat Mukul Martin Minz and Amit Kumar, Assistant Sub Inspector Kuldip Raj, Head Constable Hamesh Kumar and Constables Brahm Chandra and Shakti Kumar.
They carried out two distinct operations against Naxals in Chhattisgarh, according to a spokeswoman for the government.
The 3,488 km Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China is to be protected by the ITBP.
