Guwahati: Mysterious death of a student from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati has created sensations and public outrage in the state on Wednesday.
According to reports, the body of the student was reportedly found from the hostel room of Kapili Hostel of IIT Guwahati.
The deceased has been identified as Prashanta Kumar Arukha.
Reports further claimed that the student was not seen outside his hostel room for two days.
However, on suspicion, security staff smashed down the hostel room door and found the student dead in his bed.
Arukha was a PhD scholar in the university and also a research scholar in human resources and social sciences.
Meanwhile, after revealing of the scholar’s untimely death, the university officials have informed Amingaon Police.
It may be mentioned that Amingaon Police arrived on the scene and began an inquiry into the incident.
Furthermore, the body was taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The actual reason of the mysterious death is yet to be ascertained.
