Illegal Timber Seized in Assam’s Hailakandi During Forest Department Raids
Guwahati, 20th August: The forest department of Hailakandi, Assam, seized illegal logs and electric saws in a raid on Sunday night.
While the timber mill owner managed to avoid arrest by fleeing before the forest team arrived, vigilant efforts of officials seized the illegal timber. The value of the seized timber is more than Rs 1 lakh in the market and is a testament to the efforts to curb illegal activities and protect the natural resources of the area.
