This advisory was issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) for public safety.

The flood situation in Assam remains dire, with more than six lakh people across 10 districts affected. Officials reported that heavy rains have caused river levels to swell, prompting evacuations in numerous areas. The Kopili, Barak, and Kushiyara rivers are currently flowing above danger levels.

The affected population is concentrated in districts such as Hailakandi, Hojai, Morigaon, Karimganj, Nagaon, Cachar, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong West, and Dima Hasao, totaling 6,01,642 individuals. Since May 28, the death toll from floods and storms has reached 15. More than 40,000 displaced individuals are currently seeking refuge in relief camps scattered across various districts. Rescue and relief operations are being conducted by multiple agencies, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local administration, and community volunteers.

Road and rail communications have been severely disrupted. The Northeast Frontier Railway spokesperson noted that due to track damage between New Haflong’s Chandranathpur section and waterlogging at Silchar station in the Lumding division, at least 10 trains scheduled between Saturday and Monday have been canceled.
