Digital Desk: At Salkathoni Tea Estate in Sonari, Assam, a man was brutally murdered by being stabbed to death with a sharp object in the middle of a Saturday night.
Sources claim that the incident happened close to the Kharia line, where the victim, known as Bijoy Tantubai, was fatally stabbed.
At his home, Bijoy was asleep when a rogue opened the door and went into his daughter’s room. His daughter shouted to call her father when she thought someone had broken into her room. Bijoy came from his room to apprehend the criminal, but he had already left after stabbing him with a sharp object.
Bijoy was taken to Sapekhati Block Primary Health Center right away after the event, but he was ultimately sent to Dibrugarh for more care.
While en route to Dibrugarh, he was pronounced dead.
While the fugitive criminal’s identity is still unknown, the police have started a search operation to find the suspect.
A mentally challenged young man was fatally attacked with a screwdriver during the first week of December at the Rukni Tea Estate in the Cachar area.
The deceased, named as Nirmal Nath, was asked to leave as he was in front of Biswajit Kalindi’s tea shop. They got into a fight as a result, and a furious Kalindi stabbed Nath from behind.
In relation to the event, police had detained the suspect.
