In Manipur, a PLA “Overground Worker” was arrested
Guwahati: On Saturday, police detained a “overground worker” for the outlawed People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in the Kwakta neighbourhood of Manipur’s Bishnupur district.
According to an Assam Rifles statement, members of the Bishnupur district police commandos and Loktak battalion members of the paramilitary force started the operation based on specific information.
The “overground worker,” according to accounts, was engaged in a number of illegal activities, including the extortion of locals and the recruitment of minors.
“This apprehension is considered as a big success in the region during the forthcoming festival season and recent many reports of IED assaults by the group,” the Assam Rifles continued in their statement.
The detained person has been delivered to the adjacent police station in Phaubakchao for more investigation.
