India-Bangladesh border: BSF kills two cattle smugglers

Guwahati: Two suspected Bangladeshi cattle smugglers were killed by the Border Security Force near the India-Bangladesh border in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal on Friday morning.

The incident took place at Sitai of the district.

According to reports, the BSF personnel spotted the men while miscreants from the Bangladesh side ventured into Indian territory and tried to smuggle cattle heads by establishing improvised bamboo cantilever.

However, the security officials warned the miscreants to go back but they didn’t pay heed to the warning.

The BSF troops utilised non-lethal munition to deter the miscreants, but they attacked on BSF troops with iron dah and sticks.

The BSF party fired in the air at miscreants after sensing an impending threat to their lives.

Later, while searching, two unidentified miscreants’ r were discovered between the border barrier and the International Boundary.
