India & China Begin Disengagement From Gogra-Hot Springs Standoff Point

Guwahati: Indian and Chinese forces in the Gogra-Hot Springs (PP-15) region have begun to disengage in a coordinated and organised manner, the India-China joint statement said on Thursday.

The decision was made following the 16th round of bilateral meetings at the Corps Commander level.

According to the joint statement, both parties came to an agreement during the 16th round of the India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting regarding the disengagement in Gogra-Hot Springs.

The 16th round of meetings was held in July mid after which it was reported that there were positive movements regarding disengagement and soon an outcome was expected.

The specifics of the pullout are still unknown, but India is likely to make a statement tomorrow that could provide some clarification.

The Ladakh section of the Line of Actual Control has been the subject of discussions between Indian and Chinese soldiers at the Division Commander level during the past month.
