India Hands Over 200 Vehicles To Nepal For Election Usage

Guwahati: The Indian government granted 200 automobiles to Nepal on Tuesday at the request of the Himalayan nation, to be used for the general elections scheduled for this month’s 20th.

Vehicles were presented to the Minister of Finance, Janardan Sharma, by the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, as a gift from India for providing logistical support to various Nepali organisations for the conduct of elections.

“The Government of India has given us 200 vehicles at the request of the Government of Nepal. I extend my gratitude to the Indian government on behalf of the Nepali government through the Indian ambassador. Security forces, the Election Commission, and other relevant organisations would use these vehicles throughout the election. I want to congratulate the Indian ambassador once more for her prompt attention to our request “Speaking at an event at the Ministry of Finance in Kathmandu, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma.

Out of 200 vehicles, the security forces will use 120 and the Nepal Election Commission will use 80. These vehicles would be helpful in further enhancing the logistical plans made by various Nepali institutions around the nation to conduct the elections.

The Government of India has previously provided assistance in the shape of cars at the request of the Government of Nepal for use by both the Election Commission and the Nepali security forces.

More than 2400 cars, including about 2000 vehicles for the Nepal Police and Armed Police Forces and approximately 400 vehicles for the Nepali Army and Election Commission, have been donated to help institutions in Nepal during elections.

“For many years, the Indian government has provided Nepal with automobiles. We have provided the Nepali government with roughly 2,400 cars so far, of which 2000 are used by the security forces and 400 by the election commission. We hope the election process will get underway successfully and efficiently. Today’s vehicle handover ceremony also demonstrates the close tie between India and Nepal and the two countries’ cordial friendship “Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava said.

India and Nepal have a strong, multifaceted, and cross-cutting development relationship that reflects how close the two nations’ populations are. The extension of these logistical support services shows the Indian government’s ongoing commitment to promoting the growth of human connections.
