India Holds All-Party Meeting to Address Situation in Bangladesh
National Desk, 6th August: The Indian government convened an all-party meeting today to address the unfolding situation in Bangladesh. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar delivered a detailed briefing on the recent political and social developments in the neighboring country, highlighting their implications for India.
The meeting, held in New Delhi, was attended by key figures including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, and Union Minister and BJP President J.P. Nadda. Opposition leaders present included Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha; TMC leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay; NCP(SP) leader Supriya Sule; RJD leader Misa Bharti; SP leader Professor Ram Gopal Yadav; and DMK’s T.R. Baalu.
Additionally, Union Minister and JD(U) leader Lalan Singh, Union Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy, Union Minister and TDP leader Ram Mohan Naidu, and LJP(R) leader Arun Bharati participated in the discussions.
The session aimed to foster a unified approach to the developments in Bangladesh and explore potential strategies to ensure India’s national interests and regional stability are upheld. The leaders discussed measures to address the situation effectively and coordinate a comprehensive response to the crisis.
