Guwahati: India have recorded 16,167 new Covid-19 instances, in the last 24 hours.
According to data published on Sunday by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, this brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in India to 4,41,61,899, while the number of active cases has climbed to 1,35,510.
Reportedly, 15,549 persons have made a recovery, bringing the total number of fatalities to 5,26,730.
Moreover, the ministry reported that the national recovery rate was 98.50 percent, while the number of current cases made up 0.31 percent of all infections.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 87,81,88,162 samples had undergone Covid-19 testing as of August 7th. 2,63,419 of these samples underwent testing on Sunday.
However, India’s Covid-19 total passed the 60-lakh level on September 28, reached the 70-lakh mark on October 11, crossed the 80-lakh mark on October 29, reached the 90-lakh mark on November 20, and passed the one crore barrier on December 19.
