India records over 7,000 Covid-19 infections, 45 fatalities
Guwahati: India recorded 7,231 new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours.
According to data from the Union Health Ministry, the total number of infections went up to 4,44,28,393, while the number of active cases decreased to 64,667.
The number of deaths from the infection increased by 45, bringing the total to 5,27,874. According to statistics updated at 8 am, the figure includes 10 deaths that Kerala reconciled.
According to the government, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.67%, and the active cases make up to 0.15 percent of all infections.
The active COVID-19 case count has decreased by 1,065 instances in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was calculated to be 2.05%. The health ministry said that the weekly positive rate was 2.55 percent.
The case fatality rate has been reported at 1.19 percent, while 4,38,35,852 persons have recovered from the illness.
The ministry reports that the country has already received 212.39 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the widespread vaccination campaign.
Coronavirus cases in India reached the depressing milestone of two crore on May 4, three crore on June 23, and four crore on January 25 of this year. Eight people from Maharashtra, five from Delhi, two from Karnataka, three from Punjab, two from Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, and one each from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Odisha, Sikkim, and West Bengal are among the 35 additional deaths.
