India Records Over 9K cases of COVID-19, 41 New Fatalities

Guwahati: India reported 9,520 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total to 4,43,98,696, while the number of active patients has decreased to 87,311, according to data issued by the Union Health Ministry.

According to reports, the total number of deaths caused by the sickness has increased to 5,27,597, with 41 new fatalities being recorded, including four deaths that Kerala reconciled.

According to the health ministry, the number of cases now makes up to 0.20 percent of all infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.62 percent.

Reportedly, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 3,396 cases during the course of the last day.

According to the ministry, the weekly positivity rate was 2.80 percent and the daily positivity rate was 2.50%.

According to the data, there are already 4,37,83,788 persons who have recovered from the illness, while the case fatality rate is 1.19 percent.

The ministry reports that the country has already received 211.91 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the widespread vaccination campaign.

On August 7, 2020, the number of COVID-19 infections in India reached 20 lakhs, on August 23, 30 lakhs, on September 5, 50 lakhs, on September 16, on September 28, on October 11, 80 lakhs, on November 20, and on December 19, 2020, it reached one million.

On May 4, 2021, June 23, 2021, and January 25, this year, the nation passed the sombre milestones of two crore cases, three crore, and four crores, respectively.

Thirty-seven new fatalities from the disease were reported in the nation a day earlier, with six from Haryana, four from each of Maharashtra and Punjab, three from Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and West Bengal, two from each of Delhi, Gujarat, and Odisha, and one each from Chandigarh, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
