Guwahati: India reported 7,830 new Covid19 infection in the past 24 hours, India saw a dramatic increase in the number of daily Covid-19 cases.
The surge hasn’t been this high in 223 days. According to data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India’s active caseload increased to 40,215 on Wednesday.
The recovery rate increased to 98.72% with a total recovery rate of 4,42,04,771 individuals. With 16 more fatalities, the total number of deaths is now 5,31,016. According to figures from the health ministry, the fatality rate is 1.19 percent.
16 new fatalities are as follows – two each in Delhi, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, and one each in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The nation saw an increase of 7,946 Covid-19 instances in a single day on September 1 of the previous year.
A two-day Covid mock drill was successfully carried out in 35 States and Union territories over 724 districts as part of a significant national exercise in India’s fight against Covid-19, the union health ministry reported on Tuesday.
The ministry stated in the release, “Amidst a gradual spike in Covid-19 cases in several states, the Union health ministry had written to states and UTs on March 28, 2023, to conduct mock drills on April 10 and 11 across all health facilities, including Covid dedicated healthcare facilities to evaluate their level of preparedness, in terms of equipment, procedure and manpower”.
