India Reports 10,158 New Covid-19 Cases
Guwahati: India reported as many as 10,158 new cases of the Covid-19 virus in the last 24 hours, a roughly 30% increase amid a recent spike in Covid-19 cases, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
According to a notification from the health ministry, new cases brought the total number of active cases in the nation to 44,998. Out of 2,29,958 tests conducted during that time, the new Covid-19 cases were found. The number of cases increased by about 29.7%.
Additionally, the percentage of current cases was 0.10 percent. The weekly positivity rate increased to 4.02% while the daily positivity rate increased to 4.42%.
Meanwhile, 5,356 recoveries were also reported in India throughout the course of the last day, bringing the country’s total since the start of the epidemic to 4,42,10,127. 98.71% is where the recovery rate is at the moment.
On the other hand, over the course of the previous day, at least 15 deaths across the nation were linked to the COVID-19 virus. With this, 5,31,035 people had died in India as a result of the virus since the pandemic began. The deaths make up 1.19 percent of the total.
In India, 327 more Covid-19 vaccinations have been given within the past 24 hours. The total number of vaccines provided as part of the countrywide vaccination effort now stands at 220.66 crores. Out of this, 95.21 crore of the vaccinations were booster shots, and another 22.87 crore were preventative doses.
It should be noted that Kerala had the largest change in daily Covid-19 instances out of all Indian states. In the last 24 hours, Kerala recorded as many as 1,802 new cases of the infection. Delhi was third with 471 newly reported cases, followed by Maharashtra in second place with 546 new cases.
