India Reports 7,219 New Covid-19 Cases In Last 24 Hours
Guwahati: India recorded 7,219 new infections of COVID-19, bringing the total to 4,44,49,726, while the number of active cases decreased to 56,745, according to data published on Saturday by the Union Health Ministry.
The statistics updated at 8 am showed that the total COVID-19 death toll increased to 5,27,965 with 33 fatalities in the past days, including eight deaths that Kerala reconciled. The number of current cases makes up 0.13 percent of all infections.
The health ministry said that the national COVID-19 recovery rate has climbed to 98.68%. In the past 24 hours, there has been a decrease of 2,465 cases in the active COVID-19 caseload.
According to the health ministry, the weekly positive rate was 2.42 percent and the daily positivity rate was 1.98 percent. 4,38,65,016 persons have recovered from the virus, and the case fatality rate has been reported at 1.19 percent.
The government reports that the country has already received 213.01 crore doses of the COVID vaccine as part of the ongoing statewide vaccination campaign for COVID-19. On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 total had surpassed the 20-lakh barrier, and on December 19, it had surpassed the one-crore level.
India crossed the grim milestone of three crore on June 23 last year, and four crore on January 25 this year. The 25 new fatalities include six from Maharashtra, three from Kerala, two each from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
