India Strengthens Ties with Latin America and Caribbean for a Just World Order

National: Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, reiterated India’s dedication to fostering a “just and inclusive world order” by deepening ties with Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) nations. Addressing the prestigious Raisina Dialogue, he underscored the strategic importance of strengthening partnerships with the global South to ensure equitable global governance.

“India firmly believes that an inclusive and equitable world order is only possible through robust collaborations with the developing world. In this context, Latin American and Caribbean countries hold a crucial place in our global outreach,” Margherita stated during his address.

Emphasizing India’s shared vision with LAC nations, he highlighted their mutual support for a multipolar world order that prioritizes the interests of developing economies. The Minister stated that the visit reinvigorated India’s ties with the LAC region and laid the groundwork for deeper collaborations.

Further elaborating on his own diplomatic outreach, Margherita shared insights from his visits to Uruguay, the Bahamas, Barbados, and Nicaragua, where he explored opportunities to enhance trade, investment, and economic cooperation. He stressed that India’s engagement roadmap aligns with the aspirations of these nations and holds immense potential for fostering stronger bilateral ties.
