India to Witness Partial Solar Eclipse on Oct 25

Guwahati: India will experience a partial solar eclipse that will start before dusk and be visible from most locations with the exception of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and some areas of north-east India (Aizawl, Dibrugarh, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Sibsagar, Silchar, Tamelong etc.) on October 25.

A solar eclipse takes place on a new moon day when the Moon passes directly in front of the Earth and the Sun and all three are in alignment. There will be a partial solar eclipse when the lunar disc partially obscures the solar disc.

India won’t be able to see the eclipse’s conclusion on October 25 because it will be happening after sunset.

Drik Panchang claims that this eclipse, a partial solar eclipse will be seen starting at 4:29 p.m. The maximum eclipse time will be at 05:30 pm and the eclipse will terminate with sunset at 05:42 pm. The eclipse would be 2022’s second solar eclipse.

Nearly the entire country of India will be able to see the partial solar eclipse, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Varanasi, Mathura, Pune, Surat, Kanpur, Visakhapatnam, Patna, Ooty, Chandigarh, Ujjain, Varanasi, and a few other locations. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands and some regions of north-east India, including Aizawl, Dibrugarh, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Sibsagar, Silchar, and Tamelong, won’t be able to see it, according to the Ministry of Earth Science.

India will be able to see the following solar eclipse on August 2, 2027. A total solar eclipse will occur. It will appear to be a partial solar eclipse from every corner of the nation.

“Eclipsed Sun should not be viewed with the naked eye, even for a very short time. It will cause permanent damage of the eyes leading to blindness even when the Moon covers most portion of the Sun. Safe technique to observe the solar eclipse is either by using proper filter like aluminized Mylar, black polymer, welding glass of shade number 14 or by making projection of Sun’s image on a white board by telescope,” read a press release by the Ministry of Earth Science.

As per the press release, in Guwahati, the Partial Eclipse will begin at 4:45 PM.
