Guwahati: West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee became the third most searched person in Yahoo’s 2021 Year in Review (YIR) for India.
The survey was conducted this year to find out what Indian users discovered. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ethos in India remains intact. They are still being searched the most on the Internet. This is followed by cricketer Virat Kohli. He is second. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is making headlines these days. She finished third. Late actor Siddharth Shukla and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi secured the fourth and fifth positions respectively.
Indian Farmers Protest (Kisan Andolan) was number one in the top newsmaker category of 2021. Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan recently secured the second position with a drug case making headlines. ‘2021 Union Budget of India’, Raj Kundra and Black Fungus secured 3rd, 4th and 5th position in this category.
Kareena Kapoor tops women celebrities:
Actress Kareena Kapoor was India’s top searched female figure of 2021. Katrina Kaif came second after the release of her successful film Suryavanshi. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt, and Deepika Padukone finished third, fourth and fifth respectively in the list.
Narendra Modi’s jalwa intact:
Narendra Modi tops the list of ‘Most Searched Politicians of 2021’. Mamata Banerjee improved her position from last year and came second. Rahul Gandhi finished third and Arvind Kejriwal fourth. Bjp leader and Home Minister Amit Shah is fifth.
Elon Musk topped the ranks as the ‘Most Searched Business Person’, followed by Mukesh Ambani. Business magnate Bill Gates finished third. Ratan Tata and Big Bull Rakesh Jhunjhunwala then finished in the top 5.

Virat Kohli tops the category of ‘most searched Indian sports personalities’. Ms Dhoni is second after that. Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra was third. Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma finished fourth and fifth respectively.
According to the survey, ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’ topped the list in the most searched films, TV shows and OTT series category followed by ‘Radha Krishna’ at the second position. The list was rounded off by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Money Hist – Season 5 and ‘Sher Shah’.
