Indian and Malaysian Armies Conclude Successful Joint Guerilla Warfare Exercise
Northeast Desk, 5th November: The Indian Army and the Malaysian Army recently concluded their joint guerilla warfare exercise, ‘Exercise Harimau Shakti 2023,’ in Umroi, Meghalaya. The exercise, which ran from October 23, 2023, to November 5, 2023, focused on enhancing operational capabilities in sub-conventional warfare environments.
The training involved a wide range of Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and emphasized tactical drills, along with the utilization of modern technologies, including drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, and helicopters. This exercise aimed to improve military cooperation and readiness for multi-domain operations in sub-conventional scenarios.
Troops from Malaysia’s Fifth Royal Battalion and Indian personnel from the Rajput Regiment collaborated, further strengthening the bonds of cooperation and enabling the armed forces of both nations to work efficiently in challenging and dynamic operational environments. The Command Post Exercise (CPX) during Exercise Harimau Shakti – IV 2023 particularly emphasized the abilities of unit commanders and staff officers in operational plan formulations.
