Indian Army and Assam Rifles Facilitate Repatriation of NSCN (U) Cadres in Arunachal Pradesh

Northeast Desk, 8th June: In a significant move towards peace and reconciliation, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Arunachal Pradesh Police, facilitated the return of two cadres from the NSCN (U) insurgent group on June 7.

The two young men, who had previously joined the insurgent group due to misguidance, were given the opportunity to rejoin mainstream society through coordinated efforts by multiple agencies. This initiative was a collaborative endeavor involving the Army, Assam Rifles, the Deputy Commissioner of Changlang, and the Changlang Police, who worked closely with the cadres’ families to ensure their safe return.

An official statement emphasized that the young men had been misguided and coerced into joining the insurgent group. Their return to civilian life marks a significant step towards their reintegration into society.

Both cadres were handed over to their respective families in the presence of authorities, signifying a hopeful turn in their lives. This successful repatriation is expected to encourage others who have been misled to reconsider their choices and embrace the path of reconciliation and progress.

This development underscores the ongoing efforts by security forces and local authorities to promote peace and stability in the region by providing misguided youth with opportunities to return to a normal life.
