Indian Army Launches Spiritual Tour for Arunachal Pradesh Villagers to Promote Cultural Preservation and National Integration
Itanagar: The Indian Army has launched a unique spiritual tour for 22 senior villagers from the West Kameng and Tawang districts of Arunachal Pradesh, under its ‘Operation SADBHAVANA’ and the Vibrant Village Programme. This initiative aims to foster cultural preservation, spiritual enrichment, and national integration, according to a defence statement released on Saturday.
The tour, flagged off on Friday, offers village headmen and ex-servicemen their first opportunity to explore regions beyond their remote villages. Designed to build socio-cultural ties and showcase India’s rich heritage, the program underscores the army’s commitment to strengthening connections with border communities.
The journey includes visits to iconic spiritual and historical landmarks across the country. The participants will begin their tour in New Delhi, where they will explore the World Buddhist Centre and the Rashtrapati Bhavan. They will then travel to Dharamshala and McLeodganj in Himachal Pradesh to visit the Kalachakra Temple and the Dalai Lama Temple, both revered sites for Buddhist spirituality.
The tour will conclude in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, where the group will experience the spiritual essence of the Mahabodhi Temple and other sacred landmarks. Along the way, participants will also visit Tibetan monasteries and Buddhist temples, adding depth to their cultural and spiritual journey.
This initiative highlights the Indian Army’s proactive role in connecting remote border communities with India’s cultural and spiritual legacy. By bridging geographical and cultural divides, the program seeks to instill a sense of national pride and strengthen the spirit of integration among the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
