Indian Army’s Operation Sadbhavna Flags Off Vocational Learning Tour for Arunachal Youth
Itanagar: In a significant initiative to foster skill development and entrepreneurship, the Spear Corps of the Indian Army has launched a Vocational Learning Tour under Operation Sadbhavna, offering hands-on training to 30 members from East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The tour was flagged off on Saturday from the Veterans Suvidha Kendra Pasighat, marking another step towards empowering local youth and community members.
The beneficiary trainees, aged 21 to 50, hail from Sigar, Mebo, Ralling, Motum, and Pasighat. As part of the initiative, they will gain first-hand experience in the cane, bamboo, and handicraft industries through an immersive tour across Guwahati, Bolpur, and Kolkata.
The program, led by SEVA (Spear Corps Empowering Veterans and Aspirants), aims to provide exposure to best practices in Assam and West Bengal’s flourishing industries, equipping participants with entrepreneurial skills to create sustainable livelihoods back home.
The initiative is designed to promote eco-friendly craftsmanship, enhance employment opportunities, and build a stronger connection between the remote villages of Arunachal Pradesh and the rest of the country. Beyond skill-building, the tour encourages regional collaboration by linking Arunachal’s artisans with established industrial hubs.
The Indian Army’s Spear Corps, under its SEVA initiative, has been actively working to support both veterans and aspiring entrepreneurs in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Veterans Suvidha Kendra Pasighat not only addresses veterans’ grievances but also facilitates their second careers while empowering the youth through vocational training and diploma courses in the hospitality and IT sectors.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the unique opportunity, highlighting the Indian Army’s dedication to peace, development, and capacity building in the region. The initiative stands as a testament to the Army’s commitment to national integration and skill-driven progress, reinforcing its motto: “Nation First.”
