Indian Army’s Outreach at Agartala Military Station Bridges Gap with Ex-Servicemen
Agartala: Agartala witnessed a significant gathering of veterans as the Indian Army orchestrated a comprehensive Ex-Servicemen Outreach Program at the Agartala Military Station. The initiative drew a large number of participants from the Gomti, North, South, West Tripura, Unakoti, Dhalai, and Khowai districts, demonstrating the deep connection between the armed forces and its retired personnel across the state.
The primary objective of the outreach was to proactively address the concerns and challenges faced by ex-servicemen. Dedicated facilitation cells were established to tackle issues ranging from pension discrepancies and documentation hurdles to other pressing administrative matters. Furthermore, the platform served as an effective avenue for disseminating crucial information regarding recently introduced welfare schemes and pertinent government policies designed to benefit veterans and their families.
Around 300 ex-servicemen, including Veer Naris and war widows, actively participated in the day-long program. Recognizing the importance of holistic support, the Indian Army also incorporated a job enrollment centre to guide veterans towards potential employment opportunities. An ECHS medical assistance cell, manned by experienced healthcare professionals, offered vital health check-ups, dispensed necessary medications, and provided valuable medical counsel, particularly benefiting those residing in remote and underserved areas.
A poignant moment of the event was the direct engagement between the Station Commander and the assembled veterans. He conveyed sincere appreciation for their selfless service and profound sacrifices, underscoring their enduring contribution to the nation’s progress. His address reaffirmed the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to upholding the honour and well-being of its retired comrades.
This significant outreach program underscores the Indian Army’s enduring pledge to the welfare and dignity of its veterans. It stands as a testament to the core values of service, unity, and respect that form the bedrock of the Armed Forces, reinforcing the strong bond between those who have served and the institution they represent.
