Indian Cricketer Rishabh Pant Injured In Major Accident

Guwahati: Indian Cricket Player Rishabh Pant was seriously injured after his car was involved in a major road mishap on Friday.

His car reportedly hit the divider and caught fire while he was driving back from Delhi to Uttarakhand, causing the catastrophe.

The incident occured close to Hammadpur Jhal, near Roorkee’s Narsan border and close to the Delhi-Dehradun route. According to reports, he was driving a Mercedes.

Reportedly, the Indian batter was the only person in the car at the time of the collision. According to Director General of Uttarakhand Police Ashok Kumar, Pant broke the windscreen to get out of the burning car.

The collision left Pant with severe injuries to his head, knee and shin. He was later admitted to the Max Hospital in Dehradun with a fracture in his leg.

It should be noted that Pant was not selected for the ODI or T20 squads and the BCCI did not specify if this was because of an injury, a rest day or a selection decision.

The wicketkeeper-batter was absent from the Bangladesh ODIs as well but he was back for the two-match Test series.
