The Navy tests the BrahMos one of the world’s most destructive cruise missiles on a regular basis.
India tested a land-attack version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in November 2020 from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Meanwhile, the air version of the BrahMos missile was tested in December of last year when it was fired from a Sukhoi 30 MK-I supersonic fighter plane. The test was conducted off the coast of Odisha at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur. The successful test-fire of the fighter jet was a big achievement since it opened the way for the air version of the BrahMos missiles to be mass-produced in the country.
